Last out of the tunnel for the pre match warm up was coach Ernst Middendorp, the Amakhosi coach upon his arrival onto the field was welcomed by the Master of Ceremonies, who is a familiar face in the form of former Kaizer Chiefs PRO Putco Mafani. Ernst has once again opted to play with a lone striker upfront; Shaun Bartlett will be tasked with the responsibilities of finding the net for the Amakhosi against United. New signee Siyabonga Nkosi has been given the nod ahead of Thabo Mooki after impressing in the Limpopo event.
