South African’s and all the countries with high expectations of their teams who have not met up to these expectations begin to ponder what went wrong and try to seek out solutions.
I have said earlier that the team that went to Egypt was critically lacking players from Sundowns and Chiefs, Sundowns had one representative and so did we.
It fails me to understand how such a situation came about as Sundowns presently head the league and Chiefs are the defending PSL Champions.
With the way the team was exposed in Egypt players the likes of David Kannemeyer, Cyril Nzama, Surprise Moriri and Arthur Zwane could have made a difference.
Any way that is just my opinion returning to the home front and dealing with the issues that affect us directly, after last weeks game against FC Moscow we travel to Port Elizabeth this weekend for a game on Saturday evening against Bloemfontein Celtic.
It once again affords us with an opportunity to keep ourselves fit while the league is in recess, and play against a good team who will provide decent opposition to keep us fit and give us a good run.
We will be affording a host of different players the chance to impress and get a run out in a semi competitive environment, we do have a player on trial with us at present and he should see some game time against Celtic.
At the present time we have Emile Baron out with an injury for up to 15 Days and have just had Ditheko Mototo return to training after a week on the sidelines Thabo Mooki has also come back from an injury.
We had a player by the name of Warren Cunningham who trained with us since we returned on the eleventh of January and he left us earlier this week, after it was decided not to offer him a permanent contract.
After training with us for a while and having had a good look at him, we gave him a run in the friendly game against FC Moscow although I was happy with his work rate and commitment it was felt that he lacked a killer finishing touch which we were looking for in a striker.
Hope to see all our supporters who are down in the Eastern Cape this weekend to come over and watch our game against Celtic in Port Elizabeth, kick off for the game is on Saturday at 20h00.
Till next time keep on talking about the Amakhosi.
