Siphiwe Tshabalala was Kaizer Chiefs’ most industrious player on the pitch in the win against Black Aces in the evening of Friday, 2 August 2013 and was awarded with the Absa Premiership ‘Man of the Match’ award after the match.
Shabba was as industrious in defence as he was going forward. He tracked back when called to do so and did a fantastic job as the Glamour Boys bagged their first maximum points of the 2013-14 season.
“This was a good exercise but mission accomplished for us,” said Shabba after the game.
“We came here with an ambition to win the game. We would have loved to score a lot of goals but in football sometimes it is not possible. I believe we can get stronger as the season progresses. We have a strong team in all the departments."
Shabba refused to take the credit alone praising his teammates for the job well done; “We all played well and each and every player in the team deserves credit. Aces came to us strongly at some stages during the game and we defended well.
The most amazing factor in this team is the work ethic of the squad. We all work for one another and we are united behind the Club’s objectives this season. The fans also came through in numbers to support the team. We can only promise them to give our best in each and every game and remain humble in victory,” added Shabba.
