Siphelele Mthembu remembers the good times he shared during his spell at Platinum Stars but indicated his swift switch to focus on the Amakhosi business.

"For me it's a normal situation in one's career. It's a professional environment and 'A man's got to do what a man's got to do.' (Chuckling). Chiefs is my home I have to forget about the past. I want to perform for chiefs and move on," said 'Shaka Zulu' as he is affectionately known.

'Shaka Zulu' has faced his former teammates twice in the MTN 8 Cup home and away, 1st and 2nd leg semifinals in a space of nine days.

How was it to going through the tunnel side by side your former colleagues?

"It was good to meet my old friends in the tunnel. We shared a bit of good past memories. I was one of the lead singers and their singing took me down memory lane," said a highly inspired 'Shaka Zulu'.

How is it going so far getting into the rhythm of playing for Amakhosi?

"The Coach wants me to understand the Chiefs way of playing. He is giving me an opportunity to learn and get integrated in the system. I know I have to start scoring goals but he told me to focus on adjusting first and understand the Chiefs’ play and the goals will come," he said.

You have beaten Platinum Stars twice, convincingly so in the Cup, how will you approach them this time as wounded as they are?

"We are working on becoming more clinical in front of goals, like we did in the Cup and exploit their weaknesses. We have to press them hard in their backyard. We will approach them with the same respect we have given them in the cup," said 'Shaka Zulu'.

The Amakhosi go into this Absa Premiership league encounter with a three out of three record and would like to keep that record intact.
