Zimbabwe who have already qualified for the African nations cup play Nigeria in their final game in Abuja which has no consequence for The Warriors as they have an outside chance of World Cup qualification.
Tinashe speaking after training on Tuesday morning said, “I phoned Mr. Mhlauri and spoke to him about my latest issue and that was the I felt because my injuries had left me out of club action for a month - I did not want to travel so far and risk aggravating my injury, Zimbabwe have qualified for the Cup of nations so I don’t feel there is any reason for any one to be up set with this decision”.
Tinashe will be hoping he can use this week and the weekend to concentrate on getting his form back at club level, which has eluded him due to the numerous injuries he has suffered since the start of the season.
One of the clubs most consistant performers over the past few seasons - Nengomasha’s form has taken a slight dive after missing the last few weeks through injury.
Club coach Ernst Middendorp has supported the player commenting, “I got to speak with the national team coach and he said that Tinashe would be on the substitutes bench anyway so by mutual consent he agreed to allow the player to withdraw”.
Tinashe also added that one of the reasons for not going to Nigeria was to use the weekends Macufe Cup game to reclaim his spot in the starting eleven.
