Sthembiso Ngcobo came in from the bench to earn the Glamour Boys a hard fought point against Santos in front of capacity crowd at Athlone Stadium on Sunday afternoon.



After winning the previous four games, the Glamour Boys started as a better side with Kaizer Motaung JR and Tinashe Nengomasha forcing saves out of Tshepo Motsoeneng in the 5th and 12th minutes respectively.



Santos who had their back against the wall in the opening stages of the game sprung a surprise when Vuyisile Wana beat the offside and rounded goalkeeper, Itumeleng Khune to score in the 23rd minute.



Chiefs who have staged a couple of great comebacks already this season levelled the matters through Knowledge Musona’s spot kick. This was after referee; Buyile Gqubule had adjudged defender, Ricardo Skippers to have fouled Jimmy Tau inside the box.



It was Knowledge Musona’s 11th strike of the season and the Zimbabwean would have been glad to get a goal having last scored almost a month a ago away to Bloemfontein Celtic.



Both teams were tied 1 all at half time.



In the 52nd minute Santos scored the second of the game when Jurie Basie beat goalkeeper, Itumeleng Khune with a superb header.



In the 73rd minute Vladimir Vermezovic withdrew Josta Dladla throwing striker, Sthembiso Ngcobo to the fray for a three pronged attack with Knowledge Musona and Kaizer Motaung JR.



The move paid dividends as in the 75th minute substitute, Sthembiso Ngcobo superbly connected a cross from Siphiwe Tshabalala past another substitute goalkeeper, Lee Langeveldt.



Still the Glamour Boys could have snatched a winner right at the end when sensation, Knowledge Musona ballooned his shot following superb work from Siphiwe Tshabalala on the left.
