Amakhosi have had a few niggling injuries to key players amongst them captain Cyril Nzama, who stopped training on Friday after complaining of a knee problem. The Chiefs captain has recovered sufficiently from what was thought to be an inflamed knee and will in all likelihood get back to his training duties on Wednesday morning.
Defender Fabian McCarthy, who was laid low due to a problem with his hip, will himself be back on the training ground on Wednesday morning.
Striker Serge Djiehoua who had to miss training for the past two days as he is suffering with a bout of flu, remains hopeful that he will begin training again on Thursday and is looking forward to playing this weekend.
“I am still feeling a bit out of it because of the flu but I will be ready for the weekend’s games, as I would like to get things going and find my form as early as possible,” said Serge.
In the mean time goalkeeper Emile Baron’s recovery process from a shoulder injury goes from strength to strength. He began jogging and did other light exercises on the training ground, this after he had been doing rehabilitation work in the gym. Baron who had an operation on his shoulder recently is expected to make a full recovery some time towards the end of August.
