Striker Sibusiso Sithole was the only Kaizer Chiefs player named in the 18-man Amaglug-glug squad to play against Kenya in the 2004 Olympics qualifier at Orlando Stadium on June 7.

This match is of great importance to coach Kenneth Kubheka, as qualification will earn him a place in the elite league along Bafana Bafana coach Shakes Mashaba as the only men to qualify SA soccer for the Olympics.

"This is a critical match for us as we need to kick-off our campaign with a win," said Kubheka. "The challenge is huge and the stakes are high. The class of 2000 set high standards by not only ensuring that South Africa qualifies for the Olympics for the first time, but by also beating one of the greatest football nations Brazil.

"The pressure is on us to continue the good work that was done in the past. As only four countries will represent Africa, every point is needed to ensure that SA qualifies for this prestigious tournament."

Amakhosi young defender Buti Sithole was in contention for a place in the squad but was ruled out due to the same injury that kept him out of the final league match against Bush Bucks last Sunday.

Another regular member of the Amaglug-glug brigade Thabiso "Skaapie" Malatsi is also out with injury.
