Kaizer Chiefs striker Bernard Parker paid tribute to the coaching trio of Donald ‘Ace’ Khuse and his assistants, Doctor Khumalo and Arthur Zwane following Amakhosi’s second consecutive win against Ajax Cape Town at Peter Mokaba Stadium on Wednesday evening.

Goals in each half from Reneilwe Letsholonyane (7th minute) and Bernard Parker (67th minute) were enough to give Amakhosi a 2-0 victory in what was their last game at Peter Mokaba Stadium this season.

“The coaches have been encouraging us to work as a unity and it is unity in the squad that is bringing results. We work together as a team and this has been clear in our past couple of games,” said Parker in an interview with KaizerChiefs.com.

“They have also emphasised the importance of playing possession football and this worked against Mamelodi Sundowns and again this evening,” added Parker, who also had a hand in creating the first goal scored by Letsholonyane.

Parker was also pleased with his exploits on the evening that saw him scoring one and brilliantly setting up the other one for Letsholonyane. “I have been working hard and it was good today to be rewarded with the goal. It is not all about me though like I said that the team comes first and for me the most important thing now is that we managed to get all the points in this game.

“We knew that Ajax Cape Town will be tough but we came here prepared to fight for the full three points. Tough games are coming thick and fast and this weekend we are traveling to Free State to face Free State Stars. We will then need to forget about the result here at Peter Mokaba and start thing about our next game,” he said.

Parker also took time to pay tribute the people of Polokwane for their support to the team. “It has been brilliant coming here to play in front of passionate fans in a beautiful stadium. It was important for us to win our last game in this ground for them. We looking forward coming back here again in the near future,” added Parker.
