“It feels wonderful to get game-time again,” enthuses Kaizer Chiefs striker Katlego Mphela ahead of the Polokwane City clash at FNB Stadium on Wednesday evening (kick-off at 19:30).

The striker started in Amakhosi’s last three matches, beating Moroka Swallows (3-0), AmaZulu (1-0) and the University of Pretoria (1-0).

Mphela has been out for long this season due to an injury. Since then, the striker has been fighting hard to get back in Chiefs’ starting line-up.

“I haven’t been playing many games this season,” the 30-year-old admits. “However, being involved at this stage is great. I feel that if we win the league title, I have contributed.”

On the Polokwane City match, he says: “It’s a difficult one, because they want to be in the Top 8. Whenever they play against us, they always create problems. But we will definitely try and win the game.”

If Chiefs do beat Polokwane, they will win the league title, moving to 63 points, a total that nearest challenger Mamelodi Sundowns won’t be able to reach (they can only get to a maximum of 62 points).

Tickets are sold at the Computicket for R40 for adults and R10 for children under the age of 12.
