Kaizer Chiefs will travel to Maritzburg’s Harry Gwala Stadium on Friday, 26 October 2012 to honour a meeting with Maritzburg United as Absa Premiership gets underway following a three week break.

The Phefeni Glamour Boys drew 0-0 with Bloemfontein Celtic in their last league game at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium to retain their unbeaten status in the Absa Premiership.

Placed first on the Absa Premiership log with 17 points Chiefs have five wins to four of Maritzburg United while three matches have been drawn since 2006 between the two sides.

The Glamour Boys will be hoping to turn the tables tomorrow considering that last season the KwaZulu Natal side took four points off the Soweto giants, losing at home and drawing away.

The game will be played in front of a sold-out Harry Gwala Stadium and the return of skipper, Itumeleng Khune who missed the last game against Bidvest Wits in the Telkom Knockout will without a doubt boost Chiefs who are missing couple of key players due to injuries.

Chiefs beat Maritzburg United 6-1 in the first every clash between the two sides with Kaizer Motaung JNR grabbing a hattrick while other goals came from Shaun Bartlett, Serge Djiehoua and Gert Schalkwyk.

Chiefs last beat Maritzburg during 2010/2011 season by 3-1 thanks to a brace from Siphiwe Tshabalala and one from former defender, Valery Nahayo.

Kick off for the highly anticipated encounter is at 20h00.
