Putco set to leave Kaizer Chiefs

Kaizer Chiefs managing director Kaizer Motaung confirmed on Friday that PRO Putco Mafani is leaving the club and that this position would be advertised as the club look for a suitable replacement.

Mafani - a former radio jock and television personality joined the glamour club in 1999 - the same year as coach Muhsin Ertugral.

"Firstly I must say that Putco did not inform us officially that he has applied for a job with the PSL. That is very unfortunate because we wouldn’t have stopped him if he wanted to go to the PSL.

"Unfortunately for him also is that he has not been short-listed by the league at this point in time. Which means he won’t be going to the PSL," says the chairman.

"The company (Kaizer Chiefs) has taken the view that because he did not disclose to us maybe we should be looking for somebody else and as such we have decided to advertise the job.

"This is perhaps an indication that he is looking to go elsewhere for greener pastures."
