Kaizer Chiefs in its entirety have learned with shock the news of the death of former Kaizer Chiefs player Isaac Shakes Kungwane.

The Chairman Mr Kaizer Motaung has expressed deepest heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of Kungwane.

"We received the sad news of Shakes' death this afternoon. We will remember Shakes as a funny and a good ball distributor of note in his days. Shakes served Chiefs with distinction and will be remembered for the role he played during his playing career at Chiefs and at the other Clubs. He arrived at Chiefs as a youngster and developed to be one of the household names in South African soccer history," said Motaung.

"In recent times Shakes visited our homes through his Television work. He brought his natural flair and humour yet insightful comments, we will miss all that," said a visibly shattered Motaung.

"Our deepest heartfelt condolences go to bereaved family and friends. Psalm 23:4 says 'Even when I walk through the darkest valley, I will not be afraid, for you are close beside me. Your rod and your staff protect and comfort me,'" said Motaung.
