Free State Stars 0-1 Kaizer Chiefs (Lebese 55th)
Coach Baxter expressed joy at his charges' win over Free State Stars on Saturday afternoon at Charles Mopeli Stadium.
The Glamour Boys were in authority in the usually difficult FS Stars' home. Baxter summed up the day's proceeding after the match. He said,
Summary of the proceedings:
"I thought in the first half our movement wasn't good enough to break them down. They weren't allowing their back four to go anywhere and when they won the ball they would look to go long over the top of our back four. You have got to be more creative in between the defenders then. But our movement was better in the second half."
Missed chances:
"We created four very good chances, but when away from home against a team like this, that second goal is very important as the second one makes them come out and play. We never got that second goal.
His feelings:
"But I'm pretty happy with how my players approached the game, it's the second one of the season, and we're up and running now.
The meaning of the win;
"We all like to get off to a great start, but it doesn't mean you will have a great season," Baxter concluded.
Chiefs travel to Mbombela to face Black Aces on Wednesday night as they seek to keep the early season's momentum.
