Black Aces (1) 1 (Ngoma 42')

Kaizer Chiefs (2) 2 (Masango 12', Letsholonyane 45')

Chiefs continued with their inspiring start of the 2014/15 season with another win away against the enthusiastic Black Aces in front of a sizable crowd at the Mbombela Stadium.

The Glamour Boys did not only bag maximum points to keep in touch with the early leading pack, they displayed a fine performance equal to their theme to 'Inspire Greatness' this season.

Coach Baxter arrived here in the Mpumalanga Province well aware of the danger that the Clive Barker boys posed, and the clash became what the doctor ordered with the two teams pulling no punches and having a go at each other. Chiefs rattled the bar on several occasions, Khune pulled some of the stops that confirmed why the 'Spider-kid' is South Africa's finest stopper.

Baxter could not contain his excitement following the inspiring victory.

Overall impression:

"We created so many chances. We created loads of good opportunities and we didn't take them. The longer we were 2-1 up, Aces being a good side, came to us hard. Many teams will come here and find it difficult to get a point." said Baxter.

The win,

"It is a good one and a great start we have been planning for. There's a lot of teams that will want to roll over us but we are ready to compete. It will be a nice situation with the other players coming back from injuries and new signings coming on board as well. It will be a nice problem to have as a coach when your team is playing like this."

Individual performances,

"Mandla and Lebese have been working very hard. Mandla is playing well and delivering according to plan. Maybe he is over that hump that kept him out of the team last season. We are emphasizing on teamwork, though," Baxter continued.

The difference compared to last season,

"We should have scored many goals. We played well for the past two seasons. The players are more focused perhaps this season. We have a nice balance. They have taken a good step forward this time," said Baxter.

Baxter continued,

"We are enjoying a positive situation. The players are not tired . The players earn their shirt to be in the line-up. We may well see changes in other games to give others a chance, let's see how it goes."

The players on the side-line,

"Karuru is finalising his work permit and Mngadi is still learning our style of play but knocking on my door by working hard at training. Mthembu will be an asset soon. We will have patience with everybody but they will have to earn their places. Killer is doing well in training and he needs more games to get into the groove. He is working hard I want to get him up to speed," concluded Baxter.

Teams:

Mpumalanga Black Aces: Murambandoro; Kobola, da Costa, Ngalo (Ngobeni 86'), Tom, Gyimah, Zuke, Nale, Ngoma (Timm 66'), Mbesuma (Masina 79'), Ndoro

Kaizer Chiefs: Khune; Masilela, Mashamaite, Mathoho, Gaxa, Katsande, Maluleka (Gould 82'), Masango (Moleko 90+2'), Lebese, Letsholonyane, Nkhatha (Mthembu 63')
