“Clearly there was something correct about the way Chiefs handled the security operation on the 29th October, there were no incidents of trouble at the game and everything went smoothly,” said Nzimande. When questioned about further security measures at the game he commented “the road closures we had in effect at that game will again be in place with Nasrec road closed from the junction of show ground roads to the Soweto highway closed for public access”.
The league has urged all supporters to turn up early - as the first 20 000 spectators at the ground will be receiving free gifts laid on Vodacom the main sponsor of both Chiefs and Pirates. In addition there will once again be a curtain raisers with the stars of yesteryear facing up to each other when the Orlando Pirates masters face the Kaizer Chiefs legends in the curtain raiser. This game is due to kick off at 13h15 pm, and will be followed by a multi faith prayer service conducted by leaders of the different denominations in the country.
Pre-match entertainment will also include various artist including Rebecca Malope and Mzekhezekhe. The stadium gates will open at 09h00 am on Saturday (10-12-05) and the main game will kick off at 15H45pm.
