It was a case once more on Saturday at Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium as Bafana Bafana drew 1 all against Africa’ s no. 1 ranked, Ivory Coast.
“It is a concern for us really,” said Shabba who together with his Bafana Bafana teammate were back at Chiefs Village on Monday morning in preparation for the Absa Premiership encounter against Santos this coming weekend.
“At this point in time only Killer (Katlego Mpela) seems to the scoring and we cannot rely on only one player to score goals. We all have to come to the party. We need to take our chances if we are to be counted among the best.
About the game, Tshabalala was pleased with the overall performance of the team, “We created more chances on the day. It was a tough game but personally I enjoyed it. We played against a highly rated team ranked no. 1 in the continent. We can build from that performance.
Bafana will on Tuesday take on Zimbabwe in Harare and Shabba welcomed the decision by Pitso Mosimane to leave behind some of the senior players.
“The Coach wants to continue looking at different combinations and on Tuesday other guys will get an opportunity to play.
Shabba made way for George Lebese in the injury time on Saturday; “I was delighted for George (Lebese) who made his debut last Saturday. He really enjoyed himself in the national team in particular on Friday ahead of the game – he was brilliant.
You can see that he is really inspired and wants to make his mark at international level. I was overall impressed by all the younger players and I have no doubt that they will make us proud against Zim on Tuesday,” added Shabba.
