Lucky ‘Sherriff’ Baloyi became the latest player to laud the importance of the Reserve League currently being played on Monday afternoon and selected Thursdays.

Baloyi a product of Kaizer Chiefs Youth Development structures spoke to kaizerchiefs.com on Monday about the benefits of the Reserve League.

“It means smoother integration of the players from the Development to the first team, also good for the players that are returning from injuries and those that are on suspension.

“The PSL needs to be commended for bringing it back and I am hoping it is going to continue.

Baloyi who did not play part as Chiefs drew 1 all with Sundowns Reserves on Monday revealed that the league helped his confidence; “It really helped my confidence as I was not seeing lot of game time in the first team. The games are competitive as most of the teams we played against like Orlando Pirates used players from the first team.

“I am more confident going to the last round of the season. It is very important as a player to be always ready in case the Technical Team needs your services. I have been working hard in training and hopefully I will get my chance soon in the team,” added Baloyi who made his full debut against Mamelodi Sundowns during the 2010/2011 season at Loftus Versfeld.
