Successful meeting in Heilbron

Kaizer Chiefs supporters branches from all over Free State Province’s Fazile Dabi region met at Heilbron for their annual winter games on Saturday. “It was a magnificent turnout,” Amakhosi’s Supporters Relationship Manager Tracy Williams reflects on the day.

It all started with an executive meeting of the region. When this was finished, the other members joined the proceedings as well. “This region is starting to work optimally,” says Williams. “The branches and the supporters base are growing exponentially.”

The opportunity was also used to share information with the supporters about the new season, updates on the supporters club and to discuss the plans of action developed by the region.

One of these plans already came to fruit the next day when a prayer meeting was held for Chiefs’ new coach Steve Komphela in his home town Kroonstad. All members were invited to attend this auspicious occasion.

“Branches that don’t co-operate and refuse to work within the supporters club structure are depriving themselves of this incredible spirit of Ubuntu,” Billy Kokami, the Chairman for the Free State Province concluded at the end of the meeting. “It’s a sense of belonging to a bigger family. We are making friends with members from other branches and regions, which is wonderful to witness when this happens.”

The supporters held a parade – driving and walking - through the township after the meeting. This was done to create interest for everyone to come out in numbers to watch the soccer and netball games organised by the Chiefs supporters of the Fazile Dabi region. People from all shapes, sizes and ages participated in the activities with one outcome – to enjoy a fun filled day with family and friends.
