Head Coach, Stuart Baxter revealed during a well-attended Absa Premiership press conference at the PSL HQ, that his charges will be ready to take on the newly promoted, MP Black Aces, on Friday, 02 August 2013 at Mbombela Stadium in Nelspruit.

The Absa Premiership Champions had a scintillating start in the past season pushing aside AmaZulu by 6-0 to send a strong message going into 2012-13 PSL season; “I will not mention the start we had last season when I speak to the players,” said the reigning PSL Coach of the Year.

“I am sure though that the players are fired up for the upcoming season. We knew last season that the expectations were high for us to win and had we not won something it would have been a failure.

There is always pressure from the supporters who spend their money hoping Kaizer Chiefs will win something. We will work the same way we worked last season to achieve our goals. It is important for us to hit the ground running."

Talking about Mpumalanga Black Aces, Baxter commented; “Clive (Barker) has brought together a competitive squad. There is obviously a lot of enthusiasm to do well this season.

We will be expected to give a very good performance to come back with three points. It will be a difficult game due to mental factor but we are going there to give our best,” added Baxter.

Kickoff for the game is at 20h00.
