Kaizer Chiefs will start to defend their Absa Premiership when they visit the newly promoted, Mpumalanga Black Aces at their own back yard, Mbombela Stadium on Friday, 02 August 2013.

The Glamour Boys will be hoping that there will be no repeat of what happened the last time they visited the impressive World Cup stadium where they lost 1-0 to University of Pretoria despite being officially crowned Absa Premiership champions that afternoon, 18 May 2013.

The fans will also be looking forward to see the return of 'The Smiling Assassin’ who has joined the team for the trip to Mbombela.

“I have been working hard in the past couple of days in training and I am not far from top notch fitness. It has not been a problem for me to settle in the team and we are all looking forward to the start of the season. There is a belief in the team that we can do well again this season and I want to contribute to the success of the team,” said Musona.

It will not be the first time Musona comes up against Aces as he revealed to kaizerchiefs.com on Thursday afternoon; “We came up against them back in 2010 and I remember scoring a brace against them. The first goal was a bicycle kick that was nominated among the best goals that season.

That is all in the past though; it is now a new team, new players with new objectives and they will be determined to do well in the Premiership this season."

Musona will be wearing the no. 11 jersey previously used by his former teammate, Abia Nale;

“That one, hopefully we will meet in the tunnel before the game. I understand that they have assembled quite a good team and we will need to be on top form to come back with maximum points,” added Musona.
