Kaizer Chiefs (0) 1 (Parker pen. 48)

The Amakhosi continued with their winning streak after beating the gallant and desperate Golden Arrows on Thursday night.

The high tempo game got off to a blistering start with Chiefs, as visitors, asking Arrows many questions from the first whistle.

The supporters came to Moses Mabhida Stadium in their numbers to witness a competitive game, with the two sides determined to win the game. Coach Stuart Baxter expressed delight at the turn of events,

"I thought at times we played very well. We got ourselves to a good start. Arrows were aggressive and well organised tonight. They certainly wanted to win tonight. We played good football to open them enough, but we didn't capitalise enough though," commented Baxter.

"We got a penalty in a critical phase of the game and from there on we got on top of the game. After 20min of the second half, we started giving balls away unnecessarily or they were pressing us better. Mark Harrison (Arrows Coach) changed things, they started to play wide and put good crosses in dangerous areas. But we were able to contain their forays," said Baxter.

"I would love to see us killing games. We needed to make it 2 - 0 to give us a bit of comfort on the bench. I am happy though with the three points," Baxter.

"Reneilwe Letsholanyane limped off the field with a serious injury and will be out of Sunday's game against Amazulu. We have a long break coming which should allow him to recover well on time for January 2014 restart," a visibly worried but optimistic Baxter was confirming Yeye's injury.

"This season we have to pick our way through a lot compared to the last season. I think we are doing well especially in our movements and possession. The players are approaching the new challenge very well.

I am happy, remember last season there were a number of games that we scraped through to win the league. We beat Swallows 3 - 2 through a last kick of the ball, we didn't beat TUKS last season and we came here to play Arrows to a draw with Yeye receiving a red card. I am happy with the progress this season," Baxter.

On player acquisition, "We have targets but the asking price double than from what we first thought when we mention our intentions to acquire the players. We are trying to strengthen in all departments but we will not break the bank as we want to also develop our academy. It will be a balanced approach but certainly we want to strengthen the Team in each position to create more competition and that will allow us to rotate the Team," commented Baxter.

Chiefs will play Amazulu in their next game here in Durban, on 22nd December 2013. The game on Sunday will kickoff at 15:00.
