Metrorail is running a special train service to the Soweto Derby between the two Soweto giants Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates. This dedicated special service is offered to supporters of the two big Clubs in Gauteng coming from major corridors in Gauteng.



Metrorail is offering a safe, affordable and rapid train service to fans going to the derby at only R20 return trip. We are inviting fans and the public to use Metrorail’s safe and convenient Park ? Rail facilities at stopping stations or at the following identified venues: firstly, Metropark Offices (corner Leyds and David Webster Street), secondly, Umjantshi House (Wolmarans Street) and lastly, on platform 13 and 14 at Johannesburg Park Station. Commuters are advised to follow and observe the set train travel times for convenience by arriving early (at least 30 minutes prior to departure) at the station.



Seven (7) trains will be providing services on the day from: Mabopane via Pretoria @ 12:00, Pienaarspoort via Pretoria @ 12:05, Vereeniging @ 13:00, Leralla @ 12:55, Springs @ 12:25 to Nasrec Station. Additionally, 2 shuttle trains will operate between Johannesburg/Park station and Nasrec station for the station for the convenience of soccer fans. First shuttle train will depart at 13:10 and the second at 14:40 to Nasrec Station. After the game, all shuttle trains will depart from Nasrec at 18:00 and 18:45 back to Park Station. Normal distance based smart cards will also be used as means of payment to and from the soccer match.



To FNB Stadium


First bus will be at 11:30 from Ellis Park, Thokoza Park and C1 Dobsonville and the last bus departs at 14:30



From Soccer City Station


First bus will be at 17:30 to Ellis Park, Thokoza Park and C1 Dobsonville and the last bus will be at 19:30.
