Marketing Director Jessica Motaung has expressed her gratitude to the Kaizer Chiefs fans for supporting various initiatives from the Club including the Amakhosi Festive Vibe that was launched late November 2011.

Through the initiatives, road shows in Soweto, Pretoria and Durban were held with Kaizer Chiefs faithful coming in numbers.

“The road shows went very well especially our first week in Pretoria where we had no less than six activations. That culminated to a good crowd that we had at Loftus Versfeld as we beat Mamelodi Sundowns. The fans also came in numbers at FNB Stadium and when we played away in Durban against AmaZulu. I would like to thank the fans for their support – it has been awesome,” she said.

Supporters Club led by Supporters Relations Manager Cecil Motaung and Retail Manager Emmanuel Khumalo were integral part of the activations.

“We had Kaizer Chiefs store everywhere we went and the fans had an opportunity to buy authentic merchandise from the Club.

“We were able to register and renew membership. Most importantly the Amakhosi Festive Vibe gave us an opportunity to interact with the fans and it was amazing to find out how positive they are about the Club,” Motaung added.

Sponsors Vodacom and Hollard came on board to make the experience a remarkable one. “Starting from the Vodacom Challenge we strengthened our ties with our main sponsors, Vodacom as we embarked numerous marketing activations across the country.

“Hollard also came on board and we took our partnership to the next level through Kaizer Chiefs Insurance and the launching of new products. The road shows in Pretoria and Durban in conjunction with Hollard also went very well.

“We were of course excited to launch the home and away jersey for the season with NIKE and it kick started the 2011/2012 season with a new dawn,” she added.

Motaung told kaizerchiefs.com that there is more to come in 2012. “There will be a lot of planning that is going to happen during the break as a result of Africa Cup of Nations. The Club will be turning 43 next year and there is a lot of ground to be covered again in the New Year.

“We are working on organising friendly matches to be played possibly in Mpumalanga, North West and Northern Cape. Nothing has been confirmed yet. There will be exciting new competitions and ways to take the brand much closer to the people,” added Motaung.
