Head Coach, Vladimir Vermezovic insisted that there is still a lot to play for despite the team’s fourth consecutive draw against Free State Stars on Saturday.

The Glamour Boys needed a stoppage time strike from Siphiwe Tshabalala to secure a point after Stars had taken a lead late in the second half.

“This is a strange season...we will fight for sure,” he said speaking to kaizerchiefs.com after the game.

“We have a couple of games to play and if people have written us off following the past couple of results, they are doing that on their own peril. I am happy with a point out of this game,” he said.

“This was probably one of our best games in recent weeks. I was happy with the way the players applied themselves out there and we controlled the game.”

I had warned the players about the set pieces and I saw Stars scoring the same kind of corner kick against Mamelodi Sundowns...these things happen in a game and we will go back to training to rectify our mistakes.”

Vermezovic’s counterpart Steve Kompela told the media during the post match press conference that Chiefs can still go on and win the title depending on how they recover from their recent results.

“Chiefs is quality all round. If you close them in the middle, you have wingbacks to deal with...if you close the wingbacks you have their individual brilliance to deal with.”

I still fancy Chiefs to win the title depending on how they respond to their recent results,” said Kompela who joined the Glamour Boys in a high profile move back in 1993.

Chiefs are currently lying on 4th position in the Absa Premiership with 46 points and 4 points adrift of log leaders, Orlando Pirates.
