Stuart Baxter believes that there is a lot of work ahead despite his side winning the Carling Black Label Cup beating Orlando Pirates 1-0 at a packed FNB Stadium on Saturday, 27 July 2013.

Chiefs have looked impressive in the preseason defending the Gauteng Cup and winning the Carling Black Label for the first time since it was launched in 2011.

“I am pleased with the victory. I feel Kaizer Chiefs supporters deserve the cup after Pirates dominance in the last two seasons.

It is often said that a derby is a dull affair but this one was not short of action. I felt that both teams played well. I will take the win and have happy supporters. I will take that much more going to the new season.

I was of course disappointed in the way we played at times - while happy with the way we played at times. We made some very bad decisions with the ball and lost very good transitions. It is clear to me that we have a lot of work to do before the start of the season in particular on decision making.

We knew Pirates will come back very strongly in the second half and I felt that we defended the box very well. We also missed chances on the other end. I was just happy to get away with a win.”

Meanwhile Consumer Coach, Tebogo Letube, congratulated the team on the job well done;

“Congratulations to the team. It was an honour for me to work with the players and my favourite coach, Mr. Stuart Baxter.

I never saw this coming growing up in Orlando West. It was an overwhelming experience and I just can’t put the feeling of sitting on the bench into words. I would like to wish the Glamour Boys all the best in the upcoming season,” added Letube.
