Nengomasha has been out for a while and missed the league clash against Ajax Cape Town through the same injury. Good news is that the hard-working midfielder will start training with the team on Monday.
Midfielder Gerald Sibeko is also out injured but making good progress. He will start training with the team in a week. "These are the only serious injuries we had. The rest of the players are fine. David Obua is back in full swing at training," said team manager Bobby Motaung.
Chiefs have three players on national duty in the African Cup of Nations and World Cup qualifiers. Goalkeeper Rowen Fernandez and winger Arthur Zwane are in camp and Germany in preparation for their qualifier against Burkina Faso on Saturday. Striker Songwe Chalwe has been called up for Zambia’s clash against Senegal on Saturday.
Defender Cyril Nzama is still on the sidelines but will start training with the team in a month.
"To keep the players active we are engaged in a number of practice matches. Yesterday (Tuesday) we played against Wits University and on Thursday we play another Mvela Golden League side PJ Stars," said Motaung.
The Amakhosi team manager added that the players would be given a weekend off and will return to training on Monday to start preparing for the league match away to Dynamos on September 11.
