“It is a great loss,” reacts Kaizer Chiefs captain Siphiwe Tshabalala after having received the news about the passing away of Ajax Cape Town player Cecil Lolo.
According to news reports Lolo was killed in a car accident.
“We are devastated by the news,” adds Tshabalala with tears in his eyes. “On behalf of the team, I send my deepest condolences to Lolo’s family and Ajax Cape Town.”
Chiefs recently faced Ajax Cape Town twice in a week’s time, Lolo featured on both occasions. The first was the MTN8 final in which Ajax triumphed. This was followed by a one-all drawn league match.
“We have lost a brother,” concludes Tshabalala about Lolo’s passing. “As players, we are opponents on the field and one as a people.”
Chairman Kaizer Motaung had earlier on behalf of the Chiefs fraternity expressed his sympathies to the family of Lolo and Ajax Cape Town.
