A spokes person for Kaizer Chiefs cleared the air on Thursday morning when he said “there was some confusion that the case would find finality on Wednesday, this is actually not true as the judge did say that the answer will come to us anytime between the 2nd of August and the end of the working week which is on Friday”.
Zothwane was dragged into a legal wrangle by Golden Arrows after the club claimed that he had signed an extension to his contract which is believed to have expired at the end of May, Zothwane has contested the legality of the contract extension claiming it to be fraudulent.
The case first came before a judge on the 21st of July and was postponed to the 29th July so that the defense could better prepare their case as they claimed that they had not been supplied with sufficient documentation by the ‘prosecution’. When the case came before the judge this past Saturday both parties put their arguments before in what was a lengthy case which last almost eight hours.
Having already waited five days to hear the outcome of his fate, Zothwane will now face another twenty four hours of uncertainty and it is likely that the decision will be forwarded to all parties late on Friday, at this time there is no clear indication as to when the decision will reach Chiefs.
