This year's edition of the Vodacom Challenge will officially be launched on Monday, June 9 at the Ile Grande, Monte Casino on William Nichol Drive in Fourways, it was confirmed on Wednesday.
The competition which involves two top African sides as well as Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs, will this year see the local sides vying to bring the Kudu Horn trophy back home after FC Lupopo from the DR Congo upset Chiefs 1-0 in last year’s final in Durban.
Prior to that, Lupopo knocked Pirates out of the Challenge with a 4-3 on penalities after the semifinal match ended 2-all at the Mmabatho Stadium in the North West.
Meanwhile, Chiefs reached the final by beating Asante Kotoko 2-1 in the other semifinal.
