The Vodacom Soccer Festival advance team which will provide music, promotional items that symbolize Vodacom’s involvement with soccer in SA as well as competition prizes, will ensure that the many supporters expected at the event, are thoroughly entertained.
The first event on Tuesday, August 16 will be held at the Pick ‘n Pay taxi rank (09h00) and the second one, at the Polokwane train station (10h00). Scholars will be given an opportunity to share in the passion of soccer in a table soccer competition with fabulous Vodacom prizes at hand. On Thursday, August 18 from 10h00 LoveLife, in conjunction with Vodacom, will be available in Seshego to promote healthy lifestyles.
The Vodacom Soccer Festival Table Soccer competition has been buzzing with SMS entries from students at the TUT Limpopo Campus, who are set to take part in the Knockout competition on the campus on Friday, August 19 from 12h00.
Students still wishing to enter can SMS the word ‘register’ to 33382 to stand a chance of being included in the draw. The winner of the Vodacom Soccer Festival Table Soccer Knockout competition will qualify to represent his region at the national finals to be held early next year.
The public will also get their chance to compete in the Knockout. The Limpopo Mall is expected to be a hive of activity around the classy table soccer equipment on Saturday, August 20 from 10h00.
Persons who buy a Vodacom product from any Vodacom-stocked shop in the mall, will be able to enter the competition upon proof of till slip, indicating a Vodacom product purchase.
SAFA coaches Boebie Williams and Fran Hilton-Smith will be on hand to transfer their skills and knowledge to soccer coaches in the area at the SAFA Coaches Coaching Clinic at the Seshego Stadium on Saturday, August 20 (10h00). A top class musical line including DJ legend Oskido, will also be on stage at the Seshego Stadium from 16h00.
Sunday will be SAFA Vodacom League action day, with matches taking place at the Seshego Stadium from 10h00.
Vodacom SA Executive Director: Corporate Affairs, Mthobi Tyamzashe said that as the greatest supporter of SA supporters, the events planned for Polokwane constitute further proof of the company’s commitment to the game.
“Football is the most widely played sport in South Africa and caters for a wide range of tastes”, said Tyamzashe.
