The Amakhosi dominated the match from the start to the finish but could not find the back of the net.
“We did everything right against Maritzburg United except finding the back of the net,” said Vermezovic speaking to kaizerchiefs.com on Wednesday morning.
“It was an open game where we created lot of chances especially in the first half. It was one of our better games in recent weeks. The movement of the players was good but I have to be satisfied with the point.
Chiefs who were knocked out of the Telkom Knockout will now play their next competitive game on the 19th November 2011 when they welcome Santos at Peter Mokaba Stadium.
“It is of course frustrating that we will not be playing any competitive games due to Fifa break and of course we out of the Telkom Knockout with the quarter finals being played this coming weekend. We will use the break to work on our mistakes especially the finishing.
During the break Bafana Bafana will play against Zimbabwe in an international friendly in Zimbabwe; “I am bit worried about the traveling. Bafana Bafana will play Ivory Coast in Port Elizabeth on 12 November and then travel to Zimbabwe for the game on the 15th November. When they come back we will travel to Polokwane. I must admit I am bit concerned about the amount of traveling the players will do.
There was also another worry for the Serbian; “I am also worried that Siphiwe Tshabalala and company will come face to face with the ‘General’, Tinashe Nengomasha when Bafana Bafana play Zimbabwe. No one wants to go to a 50/50 tackle with Tinashe and I hope there will be no injuries,” he added with a smile.
