Siyabonga Nkosi revealed to kaizerchiefs.com that he and his teammates approach each and every game with a mentality to win and it was the same against his former side, Golden Arrows on Tuesday night.

Nkosi who was replaced by Willard ‘Cheese & Onion’ Katsande in the second half played two seasons for Golden Arrows before re-joining his childhood favourite team in July this year.

“At Chiefs we approach all the games with a mentality to win. There is no difference on who is our opponent on the day,” said Nkosi.

“I spent two seasons with Golden Arrows but then I have a responsibility to contribute to the success of Kaizer Chiefs now. It is going to be the same when we face SuperSport United over the weekend, I will not go to the game thinking about the time I spent with them but about doing well for the Amakhosi.

Chiefs won for the first time on Tuesday since their win against Chippa United end September; “It was important to win against Golden Arrows. It was our main objective going to the game to return back to our winning ways.

“I do feel though that we were bit edgy at times and ended up making a lot of mistakes. We did enough though to win the game.

‘Doctor’ as Nkosi is known in football circles added that winning the first quarter of the Q-Innovation is the motivation to the players; “Confidence is what we can take after winning the first quarter but we have to focus on the upcoming games. We have a long journey ahead. It was a huge motivation for the players,”

Amakhosi return to Polokwane’ Peter Mokaba Stadium on Saturday, 10 November, 20:15 to face-off with Supersport United.
