“No, there is no pressure,” says Kaizer Chiefs striker Camaldine Abraw ahead of the Telkom Knockout final against Mamelodi Sundowns. “We are excited to be in another final.”

Amakhosi lost the MTN8 final to Ajax Cape Town. “That’s why this one is so important for all of us,” explains the Togolese international. “This is our second final this season. We have to forget about the Ajax game. We have to get this one.”

Abraw is not too worried about the possible effects of the break due to South Africa’s Under-23s participation in the qualifying tournament for the Rio 2016 Summer Olympics. “That was for all of us,” he comments.

The striker came on during the lost MTN8 final. The match against Mamelodi Sundowns will be his third final of his professional career. As a youngster, Abraw featured in the 2007 Africa Under-17 Cup of Nations final, representing Togo against eventual winners Nigeria.

The striker scored a crucial goal in Chiefs’ 2-1 win in the quarterfinal over Mpumalanga Black Aces.

“Coach Steve Komphela has analysed Sundowns,” the striker concludes, “and, as always, he will come up with a good game plan. Accordingly, we have to follow that plan and play as a team. I can’t wait for the game to kick off.”

The clash between Amakhosi and the Brazilians will be played at Durban’s Moses Mabhida Stadium (kick-off is at 18:00).
