Head Coach, Vladimir Vermezovic insisted on Thursday that he and his players are fully focused on Ajax Cape Town and not on Orlando Pirates.
The Glamour Boys welcome Ajax Cape Town at Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane on Wednesday (Kickoff is at 19:30) and come face to face against rivals Orlando Pirates at Soccer City Complex, FNB Stadium three days later.
“Next week is a very important week for us. Our focus is on Ajax Cape Town so we cannot start thinking about Orlando Pirates,” he said speaking to kaizerchiefs.com on Thursday afternoon.
“Our focus is to win the next game and after our game against Ajax Cape Town we will focus on the next game. I am delighted that we will be welcoming Siphiwe Tshabalala back having missed the last three games.
“We keep on monitoring Thomas Sweswe who at this stage look like might need a surgery on his knee. Sthembiso Ngcobo is still struggling with a calf muscle but there are no excuses we should be ready to go back to Peter Mokaba.
“It is a home game for us and it is important to collect maximum points and close the gap between us and log leaders.
The Amakhosi have no game this weekend; “We will be organising a game on Saturday to keep the momentum. We would have preferred to play a competitive game this weekend but it is another round for Nedbank so we have to respect that. The players will have time off on Sunday,” added Vermezovic.
