Head Coach, Stuart Baxter has warned that his charges will not leave any stone unturned when they square up against BidVest Wits in what promises to be a thrilling encounter in the Last 32 of Nedbank Cup at the Mbombela Stadium in Nelspruit on Saturday, 23 February 2013.
The two sides will be meeting for the third time this season with the past two games producing a total of nine goals. The Glamour Boys beat Bidvest Wits in the Absa Premiership fixture in September while BidVest Wits got the better of the Naturena based side - knocking them out of the Telkom Knockout in a controversial match at Bidvest Stadium on the 19th of October 2012.
Speaking to kaizerchiefs.com on Thursday, Stuart Baxter said the past encounter will not be on his players’ minds on Saturday; “There will be an extra motivation for the players to do well but I do not think they will be taking their previous encounters to the game on Saturday.
“Bidvest Wits have a new Coach now and we do not know what to expect. They are a side that has not achieved what they might have set out to achieve when the season started and they will definitely see the Nedbank Cup as an opportunity to restore some pride this season.
“This is a game that we are taking very seriously and we know that we will need to be at our best to progress to the next round. We want to do well in this cup and we will be going all out for a positive result in Mbombela.
The game against BidVest Wits in the Nedbank Cup will be a third game for the Glamour Boys in a space of a week; “It has been difficult to squeeze planning, debrief and at times conduct training sessions with all the traveling and games coming thick and fast. We just have to get on with what we are doing and remain focused.
