Keegan Ritchie said he was pleased with his performance that earned him the 'Man of the Match' award as Kaizer Chiefs pushed aside Black Leopards to consolidate their position at the top of the Absa Premiership log table.

The Glamour Boys are leading the Absa Premiership log standings with 42 points followed by their arch-rivals Orlando Pirates who have a game in hand and lying second with 40 points.

"We came here as the squad with one thing on our minds - to fight for three points. I am delighted that I was given an opportunity to contribute and prove my worth in the team," said the visibly delighted Keegan Ritchie speaking to kaizerchiefs.com on Wednesday morning.

"The conditions were difficult out there and Leopards made us fight for the points. If you are to stand up and be counted though you have to come and win under these conditions.

"We are all happy with the win but we have to keep our eyes on the ball as games are coming thick and fast.

The former Moroka Swallows left-back also thanked the fans for getting behind him cheering 'Riiiiiiiitchie' every time he won a tackle, cleared the ball or surged forward.

"It is always a good feeling when fans get behind you and they did that this evening. We all know that they are the heart and soul of this team and they did not only back me but the whole team.

"I would like to thank them and urge them to do the same in Mbombela over the weekend in the Nedbank Cup," added Ritchie.
