Head Coach Stuart Baxter said that his Team has to take the field on Tuesday aiming to win the game. Baxter was speaking to media at a packed Press Conference held at PSL HQ on Monday, 23 September 2013.
Kaizer Chiefs go into the MTN 8 semifinal 2nd leg against archrivals Orlando Pirates trailing by a 1 goal margin.
Baxter, who will be looking at the game as a new ball game despite the opposition enjoying an away goal advantage, commented;
"We have to prepare and go into the game to win. If you conceded a goal at home in the first leg, you must stay focused to win the 2nd leg.
We have to stay positive and work hard to convert our chances. The players must remain positive and put away the chances we are creating."
When we selected Kingston Nkhatha, it is not as a matter of preference over other strikers but Kingston went to play for his country (Zimbabwe) and looked sharp in their game against Bafana Bafana. He was the right choice to pick at that time after he had played a good game for his country. It is a continuous process of looking for combinations that can give us goals; said Baxter.
Siboniso Gaxa got a knock in Chiefs' previous game against Celtics and was not available for selection against Platinum Stars last Saturday. Baxter started with most of the regulars on the bench; "We didn't rest the players because of tomorrow's game. It is a matter of a number games we have to play in a short period of time. Kaizer Chiefs are playing 4 games in 11 days."
Kickoff for the sold out game is at 15:00.
