We have to remain humble – Baxter

Stuart Baxter insisted that they will have to remain humble following the 3-0 drubbing of the University of Pretoria (‘Tuks’) at FNB Stadium on Saturday, 10 August 2013.

The win will see the Glamour Boys going to the MTN8 semifinals draw on Monday, August 12, 2013 taking place at the PSL offices.

Stuart Baxter was not pleased with the start as Tuks created better chances in the opening minutes and commented after the win;

“We did not start well and allowed Tuks to come to us in the opening minutes. It was a total disaster. We got ourselves back into the game. I also thought the pitch made it a bit difficult for players to control the ball at times. That meant that we gave away lots of possession.”

“I am however pleased that we have proceeded to the next round of the competition following the bad start we had on the same competition last season (losing 4-1 to Mamelodi Sundowns). It is indeed a bit of a relief but that is the name of the game.”

“I was pleased with the goals from set plays as we work very hard on them in training. We knew that Tuks will come strongly in the second half hence we introduced Morgan (Gould) and we dealt well with their aerial balls.”

“I am happy we have won our first competitive games of the season. I do think though there is a lot of work to be done and we will have to remain humble,” added Baxter
