Head Coach Vladimir Vermezovic has warned his players to get ‘serious’ following a 3-0 victory against Soweto rivals, Moroka Swallows on Saturday evening at Soccer City Complex.

The Serbian went for youth in the absence of suspended Tinashe ‘General’ Nengomasha, Jimmy ‘Big V’ Tau and injured trio, Thomas ‘Rambo’ Sweswe, Reneilwe ‘Maestro’ Letsholonyane and Siphiwe Tshabalala.

Lawrence ‘Spanner’ Molekwane, Lincoln ‘Harare’ Zvasiya, Keegan ‘Micasa’ Ritchie, Mandla ‘Bullet’ Masango, George ‘Whatsup’ Lebese and Lucky ‘Sheriff’ Baloyi impressed as they sent Moroka Swallows packing with a 3-0 drubbing.

Man of the Match, Mandla Masango, scored a brace, his first for the Club, while Lehlohonolo ‘Wagga-Wagga’ Majoro scored the other for the Glamour Boys.

“I congratulate the players for a win against one of the top teams in the country, Moroka Swallows,” said Vermezovic speaking to kaizerchiefs.com.

“I do feel we should have scored more goals against them. We seem to relax after scoring the second goal. This is something that I have addressed with the players. It was an open game and I always encourage my players to go for more goals. We need to get more serious out there if we are to stand up and be counted come the end of the season,” said Vermezovic.

“It is never easy when you have so many senior players out but I am pleased with the performance of the younger players. Lucky Baloyi got a knock on his knee and will go for a scan on Monday. It looks serious at this stage but we will have to wait and see what happens,” added Vermezovic.
