Doctor Khumalo told kaizerchiefs.com that the objective coming into the season was to bring back the glory days to the Glamour Club.

The Phefeni Glamour Boys were confirmed as Absa Premiership champions for 2012/2013 season following a 1 all draw against Supersport United in front of 32 000 singing fans at Peter Mokaba Stadium on Wednesday, 15 May 2013.

The Naturena based side went to the game needing only a draw to be confirmed as champions.

Khumalo who had to stand in for Stuart Baxter paid a glowing tribute to him for job well done; "People did not give him a chance when he came here back in May. They questioned his CV but the Club new exactly what they want to achieve.

"The Coach brought new ideas and made the players believe in themselves. He also made the players realise the importance of donning the gold and black.

"It was not planned that I had to take the bench without him this evening. We have worked as the team for the entire season.

"Preparation started at training and I am glad the boys pulled it off. Words cannot describe how I feel about this victory.

Doc a legend at Naturena having won three league titles as a player between 1987-2004 paid tribute to the Executive Chairman for his leadership.

"He has been rewarded this evening. I remember a meeting we had back in April 2012 together with Ace (Khuse) and Bobby (Motaung) planning for the new season.

"He is such an inspiration and deserves each and every accolade he is getting today. He has bigger plans going forward.

Affectionately known as 16-V during his playing days making 397 appearances for the Glamour Boys warned that the job is not done yet; "The Coach told the players that they will only rest after the Nedbank Cup final on the 26th of May...for now we have to keep our eyes on the ball,"
