Striker, Abbas Amidu believes that the Glamour Boys will be back in full force challenging for trophies this season.

The young striker signed in January from Black Mambas is hoping to get some game time next season after not playing any official games for the Glamour Boys since signing on the dotted line.

“We will be back challenging for trophies next season without a doubt and I want to be part of it,” said the Amidu who celebrated his 22nd birthday on Monday.

“We have put the past season behind us and we are now focusing on the upcoming season. A lot of ground work has already been done by the current Technical Team led by Ace Khuse. Things started slow but we started playing to our true potential and won important games against the likes of Sundowns and Ajax Cape Town.

We would have loved to pocket all the points against AmaZulu to make four out of four but it was not to be. We created chances but again we did not convert them.

Amidu reveals that he is happy at Kaizer Chiefs despite not playing any games since signing in January, “I expected to play like every player and I was obviously disappointed that I could not get any game time.

On the other side though I understand that at times it can take a while to adjust to a Chiefs way of doing things. I featured in a couple of friendly matches including the Reserve League. One has to be satisfied with his progress and I know what is expected of me next season.

“We were given programmes earlier on this week and I will not be resting on my laurels during the offseason. I am going to continue working hard and make sure that when the preseason starts I am ready to roll,” concluded Amidu speaking to kaizerchiefs.com.
