Lincoln ‘Harare’ Zvasiya has told kaizerchiefs.com that they are going to do everything as a team to progress to the next round of the competition when they square up with Free State Stars on Saturday, 14 April 2012 at Peter Mokaba Stadium.
The game against Free State Stars has a special place on Lincoln Zvasiya’s heart as he scored his first goal in the gold and black against Stars back in December 2011.
On that night with Stars having taken an early lead Chiefs equalised through Sthembiso Ngcobo before ‘Harare’ as Zvasiya is affectionately known to kaizerchiefs.com scored a cracker close to halfway line.
“I will always remember my first goal for the Glamour Boys. It felt good to score a winner but also we needed to win the game as a team. That game though is water under the bridge and the past result counts for nothing,” said Zvasiya.
“It is important that we proceed to the next round of the competition and we are going to do everything to ensure that happens. We want to win the Cup and the most important thing will be to beat Free State Stars and progress to the next round.
Zvasiya added that he and his teammates are not losing sleep because of Stars striker, Edward Manqele.
“We are not scared of any one although we respect our opponents. Manqele is a good striker but our focus is on each and every player on the team. They are all dangerous and will want to come to Peter Mokaba and cause an upset. They are coming to our turf and it will be important that we play our normal game,”
