Amakhosi midfielder Reneilwe Letsholonyane is at his third major tournament with Bafana Bafana and is targeting further progression with Bafana Bafana at the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations. The busy midfielder took time out to spend a few minutes of his spare time talking to kaizerchiefs.com discussing his time so far at the tournament.

KC.COM: How would you compare the 2010 World Cup with the Africa Cup of Nations in terms of the pressure and expectations that Bafana Bafana faced back then and are currently facing?

RL: The pressure now and in 2010 was exactly the same, our fans want us to win, we want to win and do well, you can’t buy experience so maybe the difference is now that we have had the World Cup experience we are able to manage the pressure better. You can’t really buy that kind of experience and having that to fall back on is a definite advantage.

KC.COM: You have featured in all of Bafana’s group games thus far and against Angola you assisted in one of the goals, personally how have you found the tournament so far?

RL: When I was given the chance to come on against Angola as a substitute I was not going to let it pass me by, I was pleased to be able to have contributed by setting up a goal for Lehlohonolo Majoro in that game. Things were happening so fast that I looked up, saw him running and played the ball in front of him and he finished off the move brilliantly.

KC.COM: What did you make of Itumeleng Khune’s performance against Morocco in the final group game?

RL: I can safely and confidently say that he is one of the best goalkeepers on the continent, he deserves the plaudits that he received after the game on Sunday, getting to the group stages took a huge team effort, we are there also thanks to him and the saves he has made. Personally I rate Itumeleng highly and I congratulated him after his performance against the Moroccans.

KC.COM: Having reached the quarterfinals what’s the mood and overall confidence in the camp like?

RL: It has helped boost our overall morale definitely, reaching the knockout stage was due to our good planning, preparation and determination as a team to succeed - we have already started the work for the Quarterfinals against a very tough Mali team. We’re looking at doing well in that game and get the right result.

KC.COM: During the tournament when you are not occupied with team activities, what do you during your off time?

RL: Personally I like to spend the downtime listening to music and just relaxing and talking with the guys. We have a good vibe in the camp and it’s a very relaxed atmosphere.
