Zuko Puza can’t walk and talking is not easy. However, from the age of five he’s a fervent Kaizer Chiefs fan, remembering all the games and discussing in detail his heroes. Zuko is now 12-years-old and he visited today the Village. “Wow, this is awesome,” he enthuses when looking around and seeing the pitch where the team usually trains.



The youngster lives with his family in Cala in the Eastern Cape province. “Zuko loves the Amakhosi so much,” explains father Edmond Puza the reason behind the decision for the long drive from the Eastern Cape to Chiefs Village. “That we decided that we had to come here. Tomorrow we are driving back.”



His favourite players in the present Chiefs squad are Siphiwe Tshabalala and Bernard Parker. His eyes widen whenever the name Tshabalala is mentioned. “Siphiwe scores nice goals,” he reacts.



And while watching the numerous Cups the Amakhosi have won since its foundation in 1970, Kaizer Motaung Junior passes by. “Kaizer!,” he shouts. It’s clear that the recently retired striker is another hero of Zuko.



The first Chiefs game that Zuko saw? “The Soweto Derby against Orlando Pirates,” he answers to the question without having to think for a moment. “We won!”



Next week the Amakhosi play the Buccaneers in another Derby on Saturday. This Absa Premiership match will be played at the FNB Stadium (kick-off at 15:30).
