Speaking on Monday following the 1-0 Coca-Cola Cup victory against Hellenic on Sunday, the coach said it was imperative to rotate the squad to give other players a chance an increase competition within the team.
"We have a lot of games in a short space of time and we have to plan carefully for that," he said. "The first we have to do is to start rotating the squad as this will also allow other players a chance to recover."
Amakhosi are heading to the Northern Province for a Castle Premiership date with Ria Stars on Wednesday. Four days later the Glamour Boys will be at home to Tunisian side Club Africain in the semifinal first leg of the Mandela Cup.
The coach has recently used the strike partnership of new boys Kenny Niemach and Phumlani Mkhize. The coach explains: "We have to give Kenny and Phumlani a chance to get used to our system," he said. "Both of them are quality strikers and we need to be patient with them. With time they will start to produce positive results."
Striker Shaun Permall made his Amakhosi debut against Hellenic on Sunday after spending months in the treatment room with a groin injury. "More players will start to come into the equation as we have a lot of important games and we must always be in top form."
Chiefs will then travel to Newlands next Wednesday for a league encounter with Ajax Cape Town. There's a possibility of a Coca-Cola Cup quarterfinal match on the same weekend and on Tuesday October 23, Amakhosi face SuperSport United.
"I am very happy with our recent performance. The only problem is that we tend to lose concentration in the box. There's a lot of work to sort the problem out."
The coach finally paid tribute to the Cape Town supporters who came in numbers to cheer Amakhosi on. "Their support was fantastic. We could have never done it without our supporters. It is always encouraging to play in front of a lot of cheerful supporters."
