After the under-18 team won the Engen Champ of Champs on Wednesday, Kaizer Chiefs Development teams are in action again this weekend in two different competitions, the SAFA-run Gauteng Development League (GDL) and the DStv Diski Challenge (DDC).
Chiefs youngsters will face Randburg AFC in the final weekend of the 2022 GDL season. The league will finish ahead of the final year examinations.
With one more game to go, the under-13s are already champions of their competition. This brings to five the number of trophies won by the Youth Academy.
Their final GDL weekend will kick off at 9:00 on Saturday morning, simultaneously with the under-17s clash, on a separate field. The under-15s’ game will follow at 10:30 and the under-19s will wrap up the day at 11:30.
On Sunday, the Amakhosi Reserve team will welcome Sekhukhune United Reserves at Dobsonville Stadium at 10:00 on Sunday. This is will be Chiefs’ first stand-alone DDC home game, following some festival matches.
Amakhosi have registered additional players for the Reserve side after losing eight of their key players to the national under-20 squad, which is in Swaziland for a camp. The reserve team is also without coach, Vela Khumalo, who has been roped in to assist the national team during the camp.
Tickets will be available for free at the Dobsonvile stadium.
