“The professional standard here is at another level. This is encouraging to see as we want to win every match we play.”
Solinas shared this feedback after Amakhosi completed their pre-match session on Friday afternoon.
Kaizer Chiefs are due to host AmaZulu FC at FNB Stadium tonight (kick-off is at 18:00).
Erick Mathoho looked on from the sideline during the pre-match session, as the lanky defender is recovering from a thigh muscle strain. Another on the injury list is Leonardo Castro, who has a left ankle injury and will be out for about three weeks.
“AmaZulu have a good side,” says Solinas, while looking ahead to tonight’s encounter. “They created lots of problems for Mamelodi Sundowns in their last match.
“They are a difficult side to play against, but we are ready for them.” AmaZulu played to a 3-3 draw against Sundowns in their last fixture.
Amakhosi have won their last two matches; 4-1 and 2-0 victories respectively against Cape Town City and Free State Stars. Both league matches were played on the road.
The Italian coach doesn’t want his side to get carried away though, “There are no easy games in the PSL. I look at the AmaZulu side and see good individual players who function well as a team.”
“We have prepared very well for this match,” concluded Solinas. “The motivation of the team is at an all-time high, but we will continue to take it one game at a time. We will play good football and, above all, aim to collect maximum points.”
Tickets for the Absa Premiership fixture between Amakhosi and Usuthu can be purchased from Computicket outlets, as well as Shoprite and Checkers stores from R40 per ticket.
No tickets will be sold at the FNB Stadium.
