Kaizer Chiefs’ last Absa Premiership match was against AmaZulu on 7 March, before the Covid-19 epidemic started escalating in South Africa.
Tonight, the league season will restart for the Glamour Boys when they host Bidvest Wits at Orlando Stadium.
There are, as expected, quite a few changes compared to the line-up of the previous match against AmaZulu.
Kgotso Moleko will come in at right-back, while Yagan Sasman will be at left-back.
Reeve Frosler, who started against AmaZulu, will miss this evening’s fixture due to a one-match suspension.
Willard Katsande is fully fit again and will start against the Clever Boys. The Zimbabwean will be accompanied in the central midfield role by the young and talented, Nkosingiphile Ngcobo.
George Maluleka, who captained Chiefs in that last match against Usuthu, has since left the club and has joined Mamelodi Sundowns, even though he won’t be eligible to play for the Brazilians in the remaining league fixtures of the 2019-2020 season.
Lebogang Manyama and Khama Billiant will play in a more forward role, while Samir Nurković and Leonardo Castro are the strikers up-front.
Amakhosi’s Nigerian international Daniel Akpeyi will again be in goal.
Both coaches will be able to make five substitutions for the remaining games this season.
This evening’s referee is Abongile Tom. His assistants are Emmanuel de Sani and Luvuyo Puma. Sibusiso Sisilana will be the fourth official.
The Absa Premiership encounter between Kaizer Chiefs and Bidvest Wits kicks off at 18:00 at Orlando Stadium. No spectators will be allowed in the stadium.
