Chiefs Celebrate 53 Against Sekhukhune

Amakhosi will kick off 2023 with a home fixture against Sekhukhune United on the Club’s 53rd birthday on Saturday, 7 January.

The Club, founded in Phefeni, Soweto in 1970, will be playing their last game of the first round of fixtures on this special day, and have slashed ticket prices to make it possible for fans to join in the anniversary celebrations.

The league resumed last week after the World Cup intermission and Amakhosi restarted with a 2-0 away win against Golden Arrows in Durban, courtesy of goals from Bonfils-Caleb Bimenyimana and Edmilson Dove.

Sekhukhune United also faced another Durban side, AmaZulu playing to a goalless draw.

Chiefs are currently 4th on the DStv Premiership log ,,with 24 points after 14 matches, and Sekhukhune lie second from bottom, with 12 points from 13 outings.

Chiefs played the game with a number of injuries concerns to some of their players and coach Arthur Zwane will be hoping they recover in time for this important fixture.

Hospitality packages, which include a ticket in the suite, parking, three-course buffet meal, with a premium bar, will be R1 450 (excl. Vat) per person for this premier offering. There will also be a standard package at R650 (excl. Vat) per person, offering a suite ticket, snack meal, cash bar and parking.

Gates will open at FNB Stadium at 17:00 on Saturday, 7 January, and the game between Amakhosi and Babina Noko kicks off at 20:00.

It will be an occasion not to be missed, with great celebrations all around the stadium, and some of the Club’s legends in attendance to mark the day the Phefeni Glamour Boys turn 53 years old.
